About
stillpoint
"At the still point of the turning world...there the dance is."
Our name comes from T. S. Eliot's Burnt Norton, the first of his Four Quartets. We understand the still point as a place of equanimity: calm, balanced and fully present, even as the world keeps moving. Everything in the Still Point catalog, from the sessions to the records and the sheet music, is made to help you find that place.
Still Point makes three things: live deep listening sessions, vinyl records, and sheet music published as Still Point Editions. Each one asks the same thing of the listener: presence.
What we hold to
Intention
Listening is something you choose to do, fully. Every record, score and session asks for it and rewards it.
Craft
Care in every detail: the notation on the page, the sound of the record, the light and sound in the room.
Openness
Classical music without walls. No etiquette, no expertise required, only a willingness to listen.
Living tradition
Deep respect for the classical tradition, and a commitment to carrying it forward: in new music, new spaces and new ways of listening.
Founder
Trevor Maloney
Trevor Maloney is the founder of Still Point and a composer, pianist, and singer who writes lyrical and colorful music rooted in the classical tradition. At the heart of his work is the belief that music can help people slow down and find inner stillness. He also sees his music as a form of civic engagement—a way of fostering the empathy and shared experience that strengthen communities.
As a composer, he draws on two formative traditions: the gospel he sang growing up in a Pentecostal church, and the classical choral and piano music he trained in. Trevor splits his time between West Palm Beach, Florida, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and studies composition with Caroline Ansink and Jan van de Putte.
